Tart & Turf is a gathering for people who love to bake

Bring your best cake — or your most experimental one.The one nobody at home wanted to try. The one your colleagues poked at politely before reaching for the bland brownies.
Here, we actually want to know what's in it.
We line up our cakes, we admire the craft, take cake-selfies, we ask questions, and then we dig in — with people who understand why you spent three hours on that yuzu glaze.
No polite nibbling. No "I'll just have a small piece."
No one asking if there's something without cardamom.
Just bakers, their creations, and an afternoon on the grass.
Come out of the oven. Make some cake-friends.We don't care who you are, what you look like, or how you identify. We care about one thing: that you made it yourself — in life and in cake. This is for the curious, smell-and-scent-driven humans whose heart is in cake.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does everyone need a ticket and a cake to enter the event area and participate in the event?
Yes.
How do I find out when tickets are going on sale?
Follow our event calendar to be notified of future events. Before each ticket drop, an email is sent out to everyone on the waitlist with details.
What does my ticket look like?
Once you complete checking out, an email confirmation of your purchase will be sent to your email. That email confirmation is your ticket to the event. Please be ready to show at registration to receive your materials. Pro tip: please make sure to check your spam folder and mark the message as important.
What kind of cakes can I bring?
Homemade cakes are prefered or from a specialist cake bakery (this excludes the commonly know patisseries such as Sprüngli, Kleiner, Buchmann, etc. - they have their place, but not at Tart & Turf).
Important: We want to eat well. Please only bring cakes that you are absolutely excited about and would be proud to share with others. If you have never baked a cake before, you should practice baking several cakes before the event to prepare. If you aren’t inspired to bring the best cake that you can, this event is not for you. We reserve the right to reject entries and cakes, that are store-bought.Are there any guidelines for the cakes?
All cakes must be a minimum of 20cm wide and 7cm tall. Do not bring cakes in aluminum / tin pans. All cakes served on the cake tables must be on cake boards for display and decorated beautifully. Cakes can be homemade or artisan made by professional cake bakeries.
Can I come if I don’t know anyone?
Absolutely! Tart & Turf is for cake friends wanting to make new cake friends — whether you’re a baker, cake enthusiast, or simply curious.
What is the agenda?
All registered participants will receive detailed instructions several weeks before the event. -> Please make sure to check your spam folder for the event details.
Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?
Tickets are final, non-refundable, and non-transferable. Absolutely no exceptions under any circumstances (even when you're ill, need to travel, emergencies, etc.).
What else should I bring?
We'll send you a checklist prior to the event, but do bring a picnic blanket, something to drink, cuttlery and napkins along.
